VIDEO: minute’s silence in Leeds in memory of victims of Manchester attack

The city of Leeds was one of a number of cities across the country falling silent at 11am in memory of the victims of the attack in Manchester earlier this week.

Hundreds of people observed the minute’s silence outside the city’s Art Gallery to remember the 22 who lost their lives in the attack – and to show support for the families of the victims.

A number of the victims who lost their lives were from Yorkshire.

VIDEO: Woolpack Debating Society Competition final at Cartwright Hall for schoolchildren in Bradford

The Woolpack Debating Society Competition is a competition allowing schoolchildren in Bradford to demonstrate their ability to debate a particular topic.

It comprises Key Stage 2 pupils from 13 different primary schools across the Bradford area, working in teams.

Leeds United fans behave better when they’re winning

Supporters of Leeds United are better behaved at home matches when the team are doing well, new figures reveal.

Figures provided by West Yorkshire Police show that between the start of the 2015-16 season and New Years’ Eve of that year, 34 arrests were made at 12 home fixtures – with only three of those being wins for Leeds United.

But from the same time period of this season, only 27 arrests were made over 14 home fixtures, with Leeds securing nine wins during that period.
